Preparing for LET Review Specialization with MindGym Topnotchers

“The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes

It’s 74 days before the September 30 Licensure Examinations (LET) for teachers.  If you are taking the LET, then by now you should have at least already found a review center to attend, gathered references, or purchased review books.

This coming two weekends (July 21, 22, and 28), MindGym Philippines will be bustling with LET reviewees who will be refreshing their knowledge and skills in their LET specializations with MindGym topnotchers.  LETers can expect a day or days in very close contact with March 2012 LET Top 2 MJ Pagaduan, Top 7 Don Galinato, Top 8 Kleng Mambiar, Top 9 Vanessa Simon, and Top 9 Joanne Mejia; regular coaches Albert Basa (Top 3, April 2009), Melane Manalo (Top 3, April 2010), Peej Caguin-del rosario (Top 10 September 2011) and Ice Alcantara (Top 5, September 2010); and other MindGym top raters and invited guests.

To reviewees attending MindGym’s majorship weekends, here’s what you can expect:

1.  Practice, practice, practice.  You’ll never get tired practicing for LET at MindGym because each practice set you accomplish ensures that you remembered lessons learned, gives you added confidence that you are closer to your goal of passing, exercises your analytical and application skills, improves your reading speed and comprehension — or in short, makes you more able to top/pass the LET.

2.  Good company.   You’ll meet and interact with MindGym topnotchers, all eager to share their knowledge about their specialization as well as their winning LET strategies.  With several review coaches having recently taken the LET, you can be sure that you’ll be guided to properly hurdle the challenging LET items they encountered, you’ll gain techniques on how to answer tricky items; and you’ll have the latest information on the LET.  Aside from being with topnotchers, the LET majorship weekends would also give you new friends that you can network with for mutually beneficial LET review collaboration.  Make the Law of Attraction work for you.

3.  Steps closer to your LET goal.  The weekend brings many (those who took summer LET review and started review last June 9) several steps higher towards their goal of topping the LET and for those just starting this July 9, a chance to take a leap in terms of specialization proficiencies.  Remember, your specialization rating is a substantial 40% of your total LET score and it would pay to focus on this bulk part to increase your chances of LET success.

Majorship weekend would have the following schedules:

English                          July 21, 22, and 28 9am onwards
Filipino                         July 22, 28 9am onwards
Math                              July 22 9am onwards
Biological Science Awaiting coaches’ availability
Physical Science       July 21 9am onwards
Social Studies             July 21, 22 9 am onwards
Early Childhood         July 28 9 am onwards

SPED                                July 28 9 am onwards
Values Education      July 21 9 am onwards
TLE                                  July 21, 22, 28 9 am onwards
MAPEH                          July 21, 22 9 am onwards
Agriculture                  Special arrangement

MindGym LETers should expect a big boost to their LET readiness after this weekend.  Yes, it’s a moving forward weekend worth looking forward to.

How about you, are you progressing in your LET journey?

If you need to hasten up, contact us at or call 437-5880 (after 10am), it’s not too late to join us for your LET coaching needs.

See you LETers.

      Hi Hazelle!

Apologies, we weren’t able to reply earlier through email. Hope you were able to get in touch with our landline though?

You may join our Math Majorship and just pay on the day itself (php 1,500 inclusive of materials; july 21, 22 9am to 6pm). Please text your name, school, date of graduation, majorship, and intent to 0927-8770800 to confirm.

Our last batch already started last July 20, and we’re already done with Orientation and GenEd, already reviewing ProfEd as of the last weekend.

If you’re truly interested to interview and catch up, we may still give you a chance. Please contact us ASAP through 0927-877-0800 / 986-0944 and look for Alice. Also you need to be able to go to our center as early as August 11 SATURDAY.

Hi Liezl, yes, you may use your maiden name for ease of application. Just make sure that when you accomplish all forms from application through the LET day, you will be consistent in using your single name.

Hi! I graduated in 1986 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting. In 1988, I took 18 units in Professional Education courses that qualify me to take the board examination for LET. Now, I want to enroll & review in preparation for LET exam next year 2014. I plan to take the said exam by July to give more time for review. Sometimes, I am hesitant either to take exam this coming January, but time is very short for my review. What would you advise, please help.

    • MindGym 2013/10/25 at 2:53 pm #

Hi Norma, when did you take your 18 units CPE? If it’s fairly recent then it might be better to take the exam when the lessons are still familiar to you.

Also here are a few other things to consider:
      1) What is your LET “readiness”? If you live near Quezon City you may take our free LET diagnostic test so to help you gauge how much you know, what areas you need to review on, how much review you still need.
      2) Is it important to get your license ASAP? Consider the “timeline” of your planned career — for example, assuming that you pass on January, you can get your license by around March meaning you can apply for a teaching position earlier versus waiting for July-August.
      3) How much time can you actually give for review? For now versus for July?

If you can’t take our LET diagnostic test, you might want to consider getting our LET Orientation book to give you a better idea of what the LET is and what you can do to handle it well.

      Hope this helps out!
