Math, Science teachers dominate September 2013 LET tops

The long wait is over for 126,952 examinees who took the September 29, 2013 Licensure Examination for Teachers or LET.


Yesterday, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announced that 19,384 elementary teachers out of 62,160 examinees (31.18%) and 25,755 secondary teachers out of 64,792 examinees (39.75 %) successfully passed the LET.”

Mathematics and Biology Majors dominate September 2013 LET Topnotchers in the secondary level. Senen Pineda* is the only one from other fields of specialization (Social Studies) who made it to the top 10:

MindGym Philippines tracked the majorships or fields of specialization of examinees topping the LET since it started its Intensive Coaching for the Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2009 and noted that majority of topnotchers were Math and Science majors.

PRC administers the LET twice a year in 17 testing centers all over the Philippines as mandated by Republic Act 7836 or the Teachers Professionalization Law of 1994. Out of the 42 examinations, the LET is the biggest reaching 202,502 examinees this 2013 alone.
